Studio Policy & Tuition:
Private violin instruction is similar to a private school or college and works on a tuition based system. Regular payments are accepted for each month in advance due on the first scheduled lesson of the month. There are 4 lessons each month with no meetings on the 29th, 30th or 31st (the 5th week).
Cancellations:
Like all private education, it is the parent and/or student’s responsibility to attend all regularly scheduled lessons. This means that your lesson will be at the same time and place each week. If you need to change your regular lesson time on a permanent basis please contact us as soon as possible so that no lessons will be missed. Please make your lesson a priority by not scheduling other appointments during a regularly scheduled lesson time. In case of emergencies or other extraordinary circumstances (like severe weather) we will gladly make arrangements when and if possible.
Vacations:
When you take a vacation, we ask that you please pay the full tuition for the month as a courtesy that helps us to maintain a steady and predictable income. If this is financially burdensome, we will accept half tuition for a maximum period of one month. After that, we cannot guarantee your spot on the schedule. You do not have to pay tuition during the times of our vacations.
Extra Fees:
A fee of $29 is assessed for late payment of tuition effective on the 19th of the month. A fee of $29 is charged for all returned checks if they do not cause any of our business checks to bounce. If this happens, the fee will be $99 plus any associated charges to our account. We gladly accept cash and credit card payments to avoid such costly and embarrassing situations. Lesson materials may either be purchased on your own or through Dovemountain Arts.
Termination:
A 30 day notice is required if you cancel your lessons on a temporary or permanent basis for any reason. You should finish out the month of your scheduled lessons, but if you choose not to, you are still liable for the full tuition for that month.
